Administrative Procedures established the Student Support Team (SST)
as the district’s general education pre-referral screening
system/process. Texas Commissioner’s / SBOE Rule 89.1011 states
that each district shall have a pre-referral or screening system.
It further states that students experiencing difficulty in the general
education classroom should be considered for all possible support
services available to all students, such as dyslexia, tutorial, remedial,
compensatory, and other services.
The Student Support Team is a campus problem-solving approach
that links professionals, parents and support systems to work as
partners to assist at-risk students. The SST is part of a comprehensive
collaborative plan that includes strategies targeted to meet a
variety of student needs, including emerging or developmental student
needs. |
