Ira Ogden Elementary was named in honor of Ira C. Ogden who was killed in France on October 10, 1918. During World War I, Ira C. Ogden distinguished himself for gallant fighting by leading support troops to the front lines and fulfilling his objective before being killed in action.

The original school was housed in a small cottage surrounded by beautiful trees and had one teacher on board. Presently at Ogden Elementary, our staff consists of 35 teachers, 5 assistants, a librarian, a nurse, a music teacher, a counselor, a Social Worker, a Campus Instructional Coordinator, 2 office personnel, an assistant principal, 11 cafeteria personnel, 4 custodians, and the principal.

Having grown rapidly in the past ten years, the construction of the new wing was completed in the spring of 1996. Ira Ogden Elementary is a home to over 685 students ranging from grades Pre-K to 5th grade.

Ogden is located at 2215 Leal Street, 78207 and is a feeder school to Irving Middle School and Fox Tech High School.
