Assessments & Guidelines

Guidelines:
  • Teachers are to read the Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd Grade assessments to their students.
  • CBAs should be implemented within regular classroom instruction; specific assessment schedules should NOT be created.
  • Simulations are to be given in conditions as close as possible to the actual assessments, including time limits.
  • Kindergarten assessments will not be scanned into Edusoft and no answer documents will be created in the Edusoft system.
  • KINDERGARTEN TEACHERS:
Your Kindergarten students will be taking their first Science Assessment at this time. This assessment is for the use of the classroom teachers only, to assess their student's cumulative learning and to inform their instruction in the coming school year. There are no answer documents in Edusoft for this assessment and therefore, they will not be scanned. Instead, these assessments will be hand-graded and the results presented to each student's First Grade teacher at the beginning of the 2013-14 school year. This information can be used to inform the teacher of their incoming students' understanding of Kinder Science content and to guide their instruction at the beginning of the year.
