The Office of Teaching and Learning is pleased to host the Literacy with an Attitude: Tools for the Thinking Classroom Professional Learning Conference.  The conference will take place on August 17 & 18 at a variety of locations, which are listed on this website under “Conference Sites.” Sessions will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. and end at 3:30 p.m.

Conference Objectives:

Provide a follow-up to last year's conference with intensive teaching and learning experiences focused on:

• implementating the SAISD curriculum guides
  
• engaging students using differentiated instructional strategies
• reinforcing literacy strategies (reading, writing, and comprehension) in all content areas
• new English/Language Arts TEKS
  
• college-readiness strategies
• faciliating learning through questioning strategies
• using online educational resources to support comprehensive instruction

Conference Schedule (August 17 & 18)
7:30-8:00	Registration	Teachers, please note the following: Teachers have been pre-registered to conference sessions. You do not have to login to ePath. Teachers should access their campus schedules that details the room locations and rotations. Take the campus schedule with you to the conference as copies will not be available. Teachers should arrive at least 15 minutes before the session begins to sign-in at the Registration Desk. (The Registration Desk will open at 7:30 a.m.). Teachers will sign-in by campus in the morning and after lunch. (Please allow time for the afternoon sign-in.) The sign-in sheets will be provided to campus principals along with the session certificates of attendance.
8:00 - 12:00	Morning C&I Sessions
12:00-1:15	Lunch on your own
1:20-3:15	Afternoon C&I Sessions
