|Parent Connections for Social Studies - Third Grade Semester 1 - Environment of the Community|
Listen as Globey discusses what it means to interact with your environment!
The Physical Environment of the Community will allow students to continue to use The Tools of a Geographer as they describe and explain variations in the physical environment, including climate, landforms, natural resources and natural hazards. How people in different communities adapt to or modify the physical environment in which they live, such as deserts, mountains, wetlands, and plains, will be included.
Students will be able to describe the effects of physical processes such as volcanoes, hurricanes, and earthquakes as well as the effects of human processes such as building new homes, conservation, and pollution in shaping the landscape.
