Parent Connections for Social Studies - Sixth Grade Semester 2: Crossroads of Diffusion

How can culture be created or adopted? In the unit Crossroads of Diffusion: Southwest Asia/North Africa, students will be able find out how cultures evolve, adapt, adopt, and spread over time.

Studying the historical, economic and cultural richness of this region, students will understand how humans can adapt to their environment to survive in an area short of water but rich in oil.

Students will also explore the religious patterns of this region – as it is home to the major monotheistic religions of the world: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.
