Am I a good citizen? As students study Civil Rights and Conservatism Bring Changes, they will learn the events and issues that bring about the Civil Rights Movement, the leaders in the movement such as Hector P. Garcia, Oveta Culp Hobby, Lyndon B. Johnson and James L. Farmer, and transformations brought about by the movement in Texas.

Students will also understand and identify rights and responsibilities of Texas citizenship in a democratic society.
