English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS)

The following documents explain what the ELPS are and how they can be incorporated into the Social Studies classroom. For more information on the ELPS, you can also visit the Texas Education Agency’s website.

To obtain files from the Teacher’s Zone, navigate to the sub-area and then click on a link to begin your download. If you are not sure what a strategy is, hover over the name of the strategy to get a quick description. You also have three different types of formats to choose from:
  • PDF (Cannot be changed)
  • Word (Can be changed)
  • Pages (Mac Only - Can be changed)

The Social Studies Resource Center makes available to any teacher resources, lessons, templates, and ideas. Any file downloaded from the Resource Center has been created in-house and cross-checked to ensure that all sources of information have been correctly cited to the best of our knowledge.
