Ms. Cody’s extensive experience includes 29 years as a Registered and Licensed Dietitian. For the last 24 years she has worked in the Child Nutrition Programs in San Antonio, Texas including the San Antonio Independent School District as well as three other local districts. This is her second time working with the SAISD Food and Child Nutrition Department.
Ms. Cody attended Woodlawn Hills Elementary, Longfellow Middle School, and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. She went on to attend the University of Alabama where she received a Bachelor of Science in Food, Nutrition, and Institution Management and later attended the University of Incarnate Word (formerly Incarnate Word College) where she received her Master of Science in Nutrition.
Her diverse work experience includes providing nutritional support and diet counseling for: nursing homes, hospitals, Humana Health, outpatient renal dialysis clinics, diabetic and weight loss patients, and home health nutrition services. During her career as a Food and Child Nutrition Services Dietitian, her main focus has been providing nutritious meals to students to assist them with their growth, activity, and academic success. Her will and commitment is to continue to campaign to increase fruit and vegetable consumption among all students, as well as, to provide healthful and nutritious meals daily.
