Mary Segovia-Sanchez, MS.,RD.,LD.

Ms. Sanchez has been a registered dietitian and licensed dietitian for 18 years. She attended Texas A&M University where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Food Science and Technology with an emphasis in Human Nutrition. She later attended the University of Incarnate Word (formerly Incarnate Word College) where she received her Master of Science in Nutrition. Her work experience includes the WIC program, school nutrition, teaching in the Dietetics program at the University of Texas Pan American and in the Health and Kinesiology department at the University of Texas San Antonio, the Continuing Education department at St. Philips, consulting dietitian for Head Start, the Texas Migrant Council, home health agencies, Educare, the Center for Health Care Services, and many adult day centers. She also co-owned two adult day care centers for 8 years. Her primary focus will be to educate the students, parents, and employees of SAISD on good nutrition and health and wellness.

Nutrition Education
The San Antonio ISD Food and Child Nutrition Services is taking a leading role in improving the overall health of students by taking a comprehensive approach to nutrition and health in our schools. The department has developed collaborative efforts within the district and community to help prevent obesity and chronic disease. It is our belief that by establishing healthy habits early in life, students can increase their chances of a longer more productive life. San Antonio ISD Food and Child Nutrition Services is committed to changing the school environment one day at a time!
