For students who are identified as "NEW" to the district and the Home Language Survey indicates a language other than English the campus will administer the Iowa Assessment once to determine language proficiency levels. This test is administered only if the student’s CALP score on the Woodcock–Munoz is greater than 1 and less than 4.
Woodcock-Munoz Language Survey
Woodcock-Munoz assessment is given if a language other than English is selected on the Home Language Survey. It is administered twice a year: first within 10 days of enrollment for identification and then in the Spring of the same year the student enrolled, for placement. Either Form A or B may be used.
