Supplemental Educational Services
What are Supplemental Educational Services (SES)? These are free tutoring opportunities for students outside of the regular school day in Reading, Math or Science. These may take place before school, after school, or on weekends. Tutoring may be provided in person or online. Any Title 1 campus in Stage 2-5 of School Improvement must offer Supplemental Educational Services (SES) to all students from low-income families.
Who is eligible to request these services? Low-income students are identified as students who are eligible for Free or Reduced Lunch and are enrolled at a campus in Stage 2 or higher of School Improvement.
Which schools are offering SES in the 2012-2013 school year?

Who pays for the tutoring services? All costs for SES are paid for by the district. If the number of students requesting SES exceeds the amount of money a campus has available for SES, the district and/or campus must give priority to the lowest-achieving students from low-income families and should establish a fair and equitable criteria for identifying these students.
Which provider may a parent choose? Parents are able to choose any provider that is offering services in their area that has contracted to work with our students. Please keep in mind that providers may offer tutoring in one-on-one or group settings, as well as online or distance learning. The website listed below offers assistance in narrowing down the list of providers to meet the needs of your child.
How do I sign my child up for these free services? San Antonio ISD is participating in a new pilot program for Supplemental Educational Services. For the Spring semester, parents may sign up ONLINE ONLY using the following link: https://www.ezses.org/tx_application/
You will need to enter the name, school and birth date of your child. If your child is already signed up with another provider, the system will let you know. If you have questions about the program or your current provider, please contact the Campus SES Coordinator listed below for more information. A REGISTRATION STATION has been set up at your child's school so that you can register your child.
Select your 1st, 2nd and 3rd choices of tutors from the list of SES Providers .
How do I choose a tutorial service? If you think your child would benefit from tutoring in Reading, Math and/or Science, carefully review the information on the website above. Detailed information on each provider is included, as well as contact information if you would like to ask them questions. You may also contact the campus SES coordinator listed below.
Is transportation provided? No. Tutoring is available at various locations around the city, at your child’s campus, or online. You will need to ensure that your child attends all sessions and you are responsible for transportation to and from tutoring sessions.
Enrollment Period: Parents may enroll their students in the SES program online between October 8, 2012 - June 1, 2013.
If you have questions regarding the SES program, please click on the Campus SES Coordinator below to email your question, or contact the district SES coordinator, Liza Rosenthal, using the link below or by phone 210-299-1187.
