Welcome to Adult & Community Education
About SAISD Adult Education
The San Antonio Independent School District (SAISD) Adult & Community Education Program is grant funded with state and federal monies received from the Texas Education Agency/Texas LEARNS. The following classes are provided:
1. General Education Development (GED) Preparation
2. Adult Basic Education (Math, Reading and Writing)
3. English as a Second Language (ESL)
4. Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
5. English Literacy Civics (EL/Civics).
Classes are FREE to the community and are held in various locations throughout the school district. For more information go to class information link.

The mission of adult education and literacy is to ensure that all adults who live in Texas have the skills necessary to function effectively in their personal and family lives, in the workplace, and in the community.
