Definition The Adult Basic Education Program is for students who are not proficient in reading, writing or math skills through an eighth grade level. This term does NOT apply to individuals of limited English Proficiency. Purpose The purpose of the program is to increase basic skills in reading, writing and and mathematics, with an emphasis on helping students develop critical thinking skills through the eighth grade level or an accepted minimum performance level. |
