Brian Clancy and SAISD just seem to go together.  Not only is Coach Clancy an Assistant Athletic Director with the district, but his ties with the district go deep and far.  His connections start with the class of 1961, when his parents graduated, then on to 1982, and his sister’s graduation, and finally with his graduating in 1984, all from Highlands High School.  Then, Brian graduated from Southwest Texas State in 1988 and earned his Masters in Educational Leadership from Lamar University in 2009.

Coach Clancy began his teaching career at Burbank High School in 1989 as a math teacher and moved to King Middle School as a math teacher and coach in 1990. After another stop locally and a ten year stint in the Rio Grande Valley, he returned to SAISD as the Head Football Coach/Boy’s Athletic Coordinator at Jefferson High School in March, 2004.  There, he led the Mustangs to two consecutive playoff seasons.

Now Brian is beginning his new undertaking as an Assistant Athletic Director, in charge of football, baseball, inventory and purchasing, as well as UIL issues.  He will also supervise athletic events and work with the athletic coordinators.

Coach Clancy is married to another Highlands graduate, Christi.  They have two children, John Michael and Allison. The Clancy’s watch a lot of sports on their back deck and try to take in as many live sporting events as possible.  Brian also grills a mean steak!
