High School Teacher

 

Student Support Program - TAKS/EOC Preparation

Student Support teachers are responsible for instructing students in activities designed to prepare students for state assessments in English I, English II, Algebra I, Biology, US History and Exit Level TAKS (English Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies). Additional responsibilities include documenting attendance and supervising students. ESL and Special Education teachers will provide instructional support for test preparation students. Compensation is $25/hour.

Credit Recovery

Credit Recovery teachers are responsible for supervising students assigned to the credit recovery lab to ensure that students are assigned to the correct courses and participating to the extent necessary to recover credit.  Additional responsibilities incude documenting attendance and credits recovered.  Compensation is $25/hour.
Sites: Brackenridge, Burbank, Edison, Highlands, Houston, Jefferson, Lanier, and Navarro 

 

Credit Attainment

Credit Attainment teachers are responsible for instructing students who are attempting to earn credit in one of the following courses for the first time: Economics, Government, Geometry, Health, Pre-Calculus, Spanish I, Speech, and Theatre Arts I. Additional responsilibities include assessing student learning, grading assignments, and documenting student attendance and performance.

High School Test Administrator

 

Testing - TAKS/EOC

Test administrators are responsible for administering state assessments in English I, English II, Algebra I, Biology, US History and Exit Level TAKS (English Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies). Additional responsibilities include attending a two-hour training to review testing guidleines and procedures, handling testing materials, documenting attendance and supervising students.  Employment as a test administrator is contingent upon student participation.  If hired for this position, you are committing to be available throughout the week of July 6th - July 10th.  However, specific hours and days are not guaranteed.  Compensation is $25/hour.

Middle School Teacher

 

Student Success Initiative

Teachers are responsible for instructing students in activities designed to prepare students for success on the STAAR Reading assessment.  Additional responsibilities include taking attendance, supervising students during arrival and dismissal, and administering state assessments.  Compensation is $25/hour.
Sites: Poe, Rogers, Tafolla and Whittier
 

ESL Summer Academy

ESL and Technology teachers are responsible for instructing students who are in their first three years in the country and who have not scored Advanced High on TELPAS Reading.  Activities are designed to reinforce reading and writing skills through the study of science.  Compensation is $25/hour.

Elementary School Teacher

 

Bilingual Summer Academy - PK/K

Teachers are responsible for instructing students in language development and those TEKS necessary for students' success in Kindergarten and 1st grade. Additional responsibilities include taking attendance, supervising students during arrival and dismissal, and monitoring students at their home campuses to ensure their safety while being dropped off and picked up from the summer school buses. Compensation is $25/hour.

Recovery Camp - Grades 1-4

Teachers are responsible for instructing students in reading or math in an effort to prepare them for promotion to the next grade level.  Additional responsibilities include grading assignments, assessing student learning, taking attendance, supervising students during arrival and dismissal, and monitoring students at their home campuses to ensure their safety while being dropped off and picked up from the summer school buses.  Compensation is $25/hour.
