Community Relations Nonschool use of school facilites

School facilities are designed primarily for school purposes and school-related activities, but they may also be used for meetings of students, employees, school-affiliated organization (i.e., PTA and Booster Clubs), community groups, other organizations and commercial groups. Board approval is required for use of facilities by commercial groupds.

Request form package to lease an SAISD facility for community or youth organizations. Please review the form and general instructions regarding district policies and procedures. If your request falls within the parameters of a community or youth organization, please complete the following documents and fax to our office at (210) 271-3330. After review, we will forward on to the principal to review and check availability with their faculty and campus calendar.

REQUEST TO USE DISTRICT FACILITIES form must be completed and submitted with the required attachments 4 weeks in advance of the requested date(s). Failure to do so may delay the processing of your request. Submission of your request form does not infer approval to use the requested facility. All requests are reviewed and processed in accordance with District policies. The review and approval process takes approximately 4 weeks and the facility may not be used until the contract has been signed by the Superintendent. The SAISD shall retain the right to approve or disapprove the request for the use of a facility. Failure to follow these rules may result in termination of your contract.

Fees will be assessed for building rental, utilities, labor (custodial and/or police), and requested services and shall be sufficient to recover all direct costs to the District. Custodial and/or police support assigned are determined by the numbers of participants and type of function.
