Message from Our Senior Director
Our consolidated ECE program (state funded PK, Head Start, and PPCD) continues to incorporate best practices for the education of our youngest learners with our High Scope curriculum plus Frog Street Press and I am Moving I am Learning. Our online COR assessment is now available for all of our 3 and 4 year olds, enabling us to look at how well our children are performing throughout the district. Change is not easy nor always smooth, but when the educational changes are grounded in research and best practices for learners, it is exhilarating.
We offer regularly scheduled professional development and support groups for teachers (and administrators too if you’d like to come)…to ease your transitions into these best practices. Please take advantage of them…check the ECE professional development calendar on this website.
In ECE, we acknowledge that our children’s parents are their first teachers, and that a warm and healthy relationship between parents and teachers produces the very best for the youngsters.
