2015-2016 Head Start Application Sessions Scheduled
Applications for the 2015-2016 school year will be accepted beginning April 6, 2015 at our Early Childhood Centers.  All events are from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Individual appointments are available upon request.

Early Childhood Education Registration Information

If you have a child who will be 3 or 4 years old as of Sept. 1, we encourage you to apply for SAISD's early childhood education program, which includes the pre-kindergarten and Head Start programs. Registration continues throughout the year.

Families must meet established income guidelines or meet other eligilbity criteria to qualify for admission to either of the two programs. If your child does not quality for one program, he or she may qualify for the other.

More about SAISD’s early childhood education program

The District’s acclaimed early childhood education program is comprised of the federally funded Head Start program and the state and District funded Pre-K program, both of which serve 3- and 4-year-olds five days a week from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The Head Start is offered at 24 District locations, including our four early childhood education centers – Carroll, Carvajal, Knox and Tynan – and Pre-K will be offered at 58 elementary schools and academies.
