 San Antonio Independent School District offers 4 health benefit plans fully insured by Humana.  SAISD contributes $373.96 to 464.37/month ($298.96 to 389.37 + $75.00 from the State) for your health plan choice.  You pay $0 to $120.36/month for Employee Only coverage.  Dependent Coverage is also available.  Plans and rates are listed below:

Vision

SAISD Life Program
San Antonio Independent School District pays for $10,000 worth of life insurance for its eligible employees.  You can elect Supplemental Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) coverage for yourself.  You may also elect Dependent Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment coverage for your spouse, subject to a maximum of 100% of your supplemental life insurance election up to $50,000, and/or coverage for your child(ren) in the amounts of $2,500, $5,000, or $10,000.  Dependent child coverage begins at live birth and continues to age 26.  See rate chart below:

Pre-Tax (Section 125 Cafeteria) Plan
San Antonio ISD offers all employees the opportunity to pay for eligible insurance premiums Pre-Tax (before) or Post-Tax (after). Click here for additonal information.


Qualifying Events
Each year during open enrollment, you elect your benefit coverage for the coming year.  Once yo have enrolled, you may not change your benefit coverage unless you have a "qualifying event".  Click here for additional information.
