SAISD will have a new medical and dental insurance program for employees in the 2014-2015 school year. UnitedHealthcare was approved by the school board and will be effective November 1, 2014. Humana coverage will remain in effect until October 31, 2014.
UnitedHealthcare will offer a variety of comparable coverage plans, including EPO, PPO, and HMO options. A no cost option plan for “employee only coverage” will continue to be made available as well as new features such as $0.00 office visit copays for dependent children (under the age of 19) and $0.00 deductible for preventative dental services.
The Human Resources office of Employee Benefits, Risk Management and Safety will conduct the annual enrollment period for employees, which begins August 18, 2014 and ends September 14, 2014.
