Middle School Partners Program
San Antonio ISD has a very successful Middle School Partners Program that helps over-age middle schoolers earn credits for high school and get back into grade level with their peers. Middle school students are identified by counselors and invited to participate; once accepted, the student attends the Partners Program for 2 periods during the school day to earn the credits needed to catch up and advance to high school. Parents and students who are interested in this program may ask their school counselor for entry requirements.
Cooper Academy Dropout Recovery Program
San Antonio ISD's Cooper Academy Dropout Recovery Program seeks out students who are unable to complete high school in a traditional setting. These students receive one-to-one counseling and formulate a plan to earn credits for graduation on a flexible or modified daily schedule. There are two satellite locations for this program: Highlands High School and the United Methodist Church (near Jefferson HS). Students are recommended for this program by their high school counselors. Parents and students who are interested in this program should contact their high school counselor for information.
High School Graduation Ceremonies
The Secondary Initiatives Division in SAISD coordinates the facilities contracting, cap and gown group contracting, and other accessories for graduation ceremonies. Parents and students with questions about individual orders or questions should first contact their school's Graduation Coordinator, usually someone in the administrative offices.
