Families and Students

  • Access free meals for all eligible students
  • Enrollment assistance
  • Provision of school supplies and uniforms for eligible students
  • Transportation is provided to eligible children to and from school.
    • Bus transportation
    • VIA Metropolitan Transit System
  • Support eligible graduating unaccompanied youth to apply for the college financial aid as an independent student.
  • Provide tutorials for children temporarily residing in some shelters
  • Make appropriate referrals for needed services in the community
  • Provide training and awareness workshops


Campus Personnel

  • Assist with eligibility determinations (Pre-K – 12 grade)
  • Assist personnel in accessing school records.
  • Provide guidance regarding the law
  • Conduct campus visits supporting communication and networking
  • Provide training and workshops



  • Provide support during natural disasters i.e. hurricanes, floods, etc.
  • Complete the grant application for continued financial support.
  • Ensure that district policy is aligned with federal law.
  • Provide guidance to various departments regarding the implementation of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Act.


  • Partner and network with community organizations to ensure the academic success of all eligible students.
