Growing Burbank chemistry program taking college lecture approach

KillianEXCELwebPoe MS teacher Rachelle Killian (at center) was in the spotlight Sept. 29, when she was awarded a SACU and KENS 5 ExCEL Award, which recognizes local public school teachers “for their innovative practices and the differences they are making in the classroom and beyond.” The award came with a $1,000 check.




HighlandHillshistoryHighland Hills ES 4th-graders recently got out of the classroom and on a bus called Olé to learn about Texas history through interactive activities that taught them about the state’s flags, landmarks, cultures and leaders. The History in Motion bus was created by the San Antonio Express-News and Ancira and travels to area schools.
