SAISD student artwork to be exhibited in Washington, D.C.

Fifty stellar pieces of SAISD student artwork will gain a national audience come July 9, when a two-month exhibit exclusively featuring District students opens in a ceremony at the U.S. Department of Education. The exhibit is five years in the making – that’s how long SAISD has been on the waiting list for the federal agency’s popular Student Art Exhibit Program.  Read more.

bandcampwebAbout 200 middle school-level band students are improving their performing skills through both individualized and group training led by SAISD band directors and other professional musicians during the Sixth-Annual Alamo City Band Camp being held at Burbank HS the week of June 15.



ForensicswebA group of incoming juniors is learning that science is used in the "real world" on a daily basis, in this case, to help solve crimes. The students in this photo are learning how to dust for fingerprints as part of a Forensic Science summer camp going on this week. The camp is part of the GEAR UP college-prep program.
