Edison foundation grant winner

Edison grant winner PS

Alexandra Rios, center, was one of 35 SAISD educators who will be receiving a grant from the SAISD Foundation. Rios, a science teacher at Edison HS, will use the grant to provide a five-day college trip for 20 students to the University of Southern California. She was surprised with the news on May 22.

Azael Preciado, a Lanier HS architecture student beat out some 6,000 entries citywide to win Best of Show in the 2012 VIA Youth Art Contest: “Next Stop Design S. A.”  His design will now be featured on VIA buses across the city.
