SAISD celebrates Bond 2010’s nearing completion, pays tribute to citizens committee

The $515 million bond has enabled SAISD to make much-needed upgrades across the District, with a total of 68 schools benefitting from Bond 2010 - 22 of those schools receiving major renovations. The overall bond program is on track to come in just under budget and is being financed by a property tax rate that has been consistently lower than what was originally projected.  Read more and access a photo reel of projects.

BrackJROTCwebCongratulations to members of the Brackenridge High School, SAISD JROTC who competed and placed in the 2016 U.S. Army Cadet Command JROTC National Drill Championships April 9 in Louisville, Kentucky. Theirs was among 96 teams from across the country competing for Top 5 Honors and the school’s Elite Male Color Guard made it, coming in 5th place! Also, the Armed Drill Team received 4th-place honors in the Exhibition Category. Together, the Armed Drill team and Male Color Guard finished 5th place overall, earning them the title of one of the top drill teams in the country.




WhittierServinwebIn honor of ‪‎Teacher Appreciation Week, Whittier Middle School teacher Laura Servin received a surprise phone call May 5 from U.S. Secretary of Education John B. King Jr. In February, Servin was the lone Texas teacher to receive the national Milken Educator Award, which has been dubbed the “Oscar" of teaching - and she was the only San Antonio teacher to receive a call from the Secretary.
