SAISD Board calls for Bond and Tax Ratification elections

The San Antonio ISD Board of Trustees voted Aug. 15 to call for both a $450 million bond and a Tax Ratification Election (TRE) to raise the District’s Maintenance & Operations tax rate by 13 cents. Voters residing within the District’s attendance zone will be asked to consider the two separate ballot propositions in November. Read more

YWLASTMwebA group of Young Women’s Leadership Academy juniors kicked off a weeklong Leadership in Law Camp hosted by the St. Mary's University School of Law on Aug. 1. Justice Rebeca Martinez, of the 4th Court of Appeals (front, left), and State District Judge Beckie Palomo (front, right) were among the day's speakers. The camp, one of a number that students of the all-girls school will participate in this week as they get a jumpstart on the new school year, is designed to highlight the many legal professions, as well as provide an overview of constitutional law.
