Edison HS mass casualty exercise helps students hone career skills

Edison HS hosted its third annual mass casualty exercise, involving students, staff and city police, fire and rescue personnel, May 19. The event, designed to help students in a number of magnet programs hone their career skills, involved simulated explosions and city first-responders working side-by-side students to assist mock victims, who were played by student actors. The event, held at the Alamo Convocation Center, was a huge success with more than 1,000 people there to view science projects that represented the best work among SAISD students in K-5 − and to find out which ones would take top honors.
