SAISD Board calls for Bond and Tax Ratification elections

The San Antonio ISD Board of Trustees voted Aug. 15 to call for both a $450 million bond and a Tax Ratification Election (TRE) to raise the District’s Maintenance & Operations tax rate by 13 cents. CASTTechTourwebInterested community members and staff toured the Fox Tech High School building that will be renovated to become home to the new CAST Tech High School, which will open next year with a focus on technology and entrepreneurship. CAST Tech will be the first in a network of industry-based, career-themed high schools funded by H-E-B and Charles Butt, and its lead industry partner will be Tech Bloc, a technology economy advocacy movement. The H-E-B architects in charge of designing the facilities led the tour.
