Interested community members and staff toured the Fox Tech High School building that will be renovated to become home to the new CAST Tech High School, which will open next year with a focus on technology and entrepreneurship. CAST Tech will be the first in a network of industry-based, career-themed high schools funded by H-E-B and Charles Butt, and its lead industry partner will be Tech Bloc, a technology economy advocacy movement. The H-E-B architects in charge of designing the facilities led the tour.
Superintendent Pedro Martinez shares information about the two propositions that will be on the Nov. 8 ballot during a Sept. 27 community meeting at Sam Houston HS. The two proposals are a $450 million bond and a 13-cent increase to the District’s Maintenance & Operations tax rate to generate additional revenue for daily operations.
