Sarah King ES students, parents and community members May 26 for The Spirit of Sarah King: Festival of the Arts showcase, in collaboration with San Antonio’s Office of Historical Preservation and SA2020. The event included student art, the work of local artist and Lanier High School graduate Albert Gonzales, interactive art activities, musical performances and story-telling. The celebration also featured the school’s participation in “This Place Matters,” a National Trust for Historic Places project in observance of National Preservation Month.
More than 1,000 people turned out on Saturday for the 3rd annual SAISD Science Fair & Expo at the Alamo Convocation Center. The event, which featured science projects created by students in kindergarten through 5th grades, included the judging of the projects, student interviews conducted by secondary teachers and department chairs, a student exploration period where participants studied other projects (pictured here) to see what they might have done differently and an awards celebration.
