Oct. 16 (Sat) — International Baccalaureate Diploma Magnet open house
10 to 11:30 a.m. at Burbank High School, 1002 Edwards St.

Eighth-graders from throughout Bexar County and their parents are invited to learn about educational options offered through the renowned, rigorous IB honors program. Burbank is one of 13 SAISD secondary schools hosting Magnet programs designed to provide students a strong scholastic foundation coupled with real-world experience. 

Oct. 18 (Mon) — School Board meeting
5:30 p.m. at Highlands High School, 3118 Elgin Ave.


Oct. 19 (Tues) — Health Profession Magnet open house
5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Edison High School, 3118 Elgin St.

Eighth-graders from throughout Bexar County and their parents are invited to learn about educational options offered through this Magnet for teens interested in health careers. Edison is among 13 SAISD secondary schools hosting Magnet programs designed to provide students a strong scholastic foundation coupled with real-world experience. 

Oct. 19 (Tues) — Candidate for IB Middle Years Programme Magnet open house
6 to 7 p.m. at Lowell Middle School, 919 Thompson Place

Fifth-graders from throughout Bexar County and their parents are invited to learn about educational options offered through this Magnet for students interested in preparing for enrollment into Burbank High School’s International Baccalaureate Diploma honors program. Lowell is among 13 SAISD secondary schools hosting Magnet programs designed to provide students a strong scholastic foundation coupled with real-world experience. 

Oct. 20 (Wed) — Science, Engineering & Technology Magnet open house
6 to 7:30 p.m. at Highlands High School, 3118 Elgin Ave.

Eighth-graders from throughout Bexar County and their parents are invited to learn about educational options offered through this Magnet for students interested in high-tech and scientific careers such as aeronautics, space flight, robotics and computer programming and repair. Highlands is among 13 SAISD secondary schools hosting Magnet programs designed to provide students a strong scholastic foundation coupled with real-world experience. 

Oct. 21 (Thurs) — Business & Finance Magnet open house
5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Lanier High School, 1514 W. Durango Blvd.

Eighth-graders from throughout Bexar County and their parents are invited to learn about educational options offered through this Magnet for students interested in financial careers and entrepreneurship. Lanier is among 13 SAISD secondary schools hosting Magnet programs designed to provide students a strong scholastic foundation coupled with real-world experience. 

Oct. 22 (Fri) — Fall Festival
3:30 to 6 p.m. at Ogden Elementary School, 2215 Leal St.

The community is invited to enjoy music, games and food and beverage booths. Sponsor for the Fall Festival is the school PTA.

Oct. 22 (Fri) — Law Professions and Health Professions open house
5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Fox Tech High School, 1915 N. Main Ave.

Eighth-graders from throughout Bexar County and their parents are invited to learn about educational options offered through these Magnets for students interested in either law or in health professions. Fox Tech is among 13 SAISD secondary schools hosting Magnet programs designed to provide students a strong scholastic foundation coupled with real-world experience.
