Nov. 22-26 — Thanksgiving holiday
All schools and most offices will be closed this week and re-open Monday, Nov. 29.
Ongoing thru Jan. 3 — SAISD taking applications for Bond Citizens Oversight Committee
Anyone interested in serving on this 24-member committee being formed to ensure the effective and efficient use of bond proceeds may apply online at www.saisd.net, or weekdays during regular business hours following the Thanksgiving holiday at the Governmental & Community Relations Department, 141 Lavaca St.,78210. Completed applications are due by Monday, Jan. 3, and may be e-mailed to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. The School Board voted to form this committee after voters approved the $515 million SAISD Bond 2010 to fund improvements at schools Districtwide.
Dec. 3 (Fri) — SAISD Social Studies History Fair
3 p.m. at the Trinity University Fiesta Room, 1 Trinity Place.
Middle and high school student projects will be judged in five categories: exhibits; performances; documentaries; historical papers; and websites. The awards ceremony will be 4 p.m., and the 1st- and 2nd-place winners will qualify to advance on to the San Antonio Regional History Fair, Feb. 25–26.
Dec. 3 (Fri) — SAISD Council of PTAs general meeting and Christmas social
6:30 p.m. at Harris Middle School, 325 Pruitt Ave.
The last regular monthly meeting of PTA chapter representatives for 2010 will feature holiday festivities.
