More: This downtown campus’s new Health Professions Magnet Program will be showcased as an example of ways to keep teens engaged in their education when parents, students and representatives from Bexar County-area school districts gather to combat the dropout problem. The symposium will feature guest speakers, discussion panels and activities. Topics will include: facing the issues; successful strategies; parental involvement; mentoring; students taking their futures seriously; and more.
Symposium sponsor is the Alamo Area Alliance of Black School Educators, formed in part to promote and facilitate the education of minority students. President Mae Olison is principal of SAISD’s Washington Elementary School.
About the Fox Tech High School Magnets
Offered in partnership with University Health System, SAISD’s newest Magnet is a college preparatory providing a health science curriculum and real world experience.
This fall it joined the established Law Magnet as college preparatories offered to qualified students from throughout Bexar County as Fox Tech transitions exclusively into a stand-alone magnet high school.
