SAISD's Social Studies Teachers of the Year selected

A trio of outstanding educators have been lauded for excellence.

Honored with Globey awards as the District's Social Studies Teachers of the Year are Carol Hill, Poe MS; Edelia Lira, Lanier HS; and Carrie Mayfield, Lamar ES.

Recipients were announced at the recent 11th-annual SAISD Social Studies Conference.Their selection was based upon innovative teaching, campus special event coordination, workshop presentations, student participation in academic contests and professional organization membership.
