When: April 18 (Wednesday), 9:30 a.m. – 11 a.m.
More: On Wednesday, future architects from Highlands High School will have an opportunity to leave their imprint on the campus, when they present their ideas and designs for planned renovations.
Members of the school’s Highlands Engineering and Architecture Team (HEAT) will gather at Pfluger Associates Architects to present their drawings, models and perspectives for focal points at the school, such as the cafeteria, library and auditorium. The students will also gain valuable communications skills through the presentations.
Pfluger is the project architect for the Highlands project and has been working with the students as part of an on-going partnership to give them a window into the field of architecture. Architects will continue to meet with HEAT students in the coming months, as the project progresses.
Voters approved a $515 million bond package in November 2010, which included money for major renovations to 22 schools, with $65.7 million designated for Highlands High School.
NOTE: Students will be available for interviews.
