Superintendent search process underway


The San Antonio Independent School District has begun the search process for a new superintendent. In June, the Board of Trustees hired PROACT Search, a group comprised of more than 100 consultants with experience as educators. The firm is responsible for recruiting qualified candidates and managing the search process, which will include as a key component gathering public and employee input regarding the District’s next leader.

There will be multiple opportunities for community engagement. Additional information regarding the search, including the announcement of public meetings, will be posted online in the coming weeks and months. An online survey will also soon be available for input. Below is the current search timeline.

 
Timeline

· June 2012 — Board of Trustees hires PROACT Search

· June 2012 – Search launched

· Fall 2012 — Interviews with the Board of Trustees and key stakeholders, as well as community forums and meetings to gather input from parents and community groups

· September 2012 – Profile for the position finalized

· September-November 2012 – Marketing and recruiting

· December 2012 – Applicant interviews, finalists determined

· January 2013 – Finalist interviews and new superintendent selected
