All schools and most offices will be closed and will re-open Monday, Jan. 7.
Jan. 7 (Mon) — ‘King of Pop’ and free bikes to welcome students back
2 p.m. at De Zavala Elementary School, 2311 San Luis St.
Brightening the first day of classes after the winter break will be a performance by Michael Jackson impersonator Paul Riojas and a bike giveaway courtesy the Horace Mann insurance company. The names of students at school that day will be entered into a raffle and one boy and girl will be the lucky winners. The program is part of a schoolwide incentive to promote attendance.
