Superintendent search process well underway

Superintendent search process well underway
January, 2013 update

The SAISD Board of Trustees reviewed superintendent candidate applications on January 7, 2013, and made the decision to hold interviews with seven candidates in mid-January.  The decision follows an extensive process led by the PROACT Search firm that yielded 85 applicants for the superintendent position.

The 85 applicants represent a diverse pool of candidates.  PROACT closely reviewed the applications against the Superintendent Position Profile, which is based on information gathered from a number of stakeholder engagement forums.  Analysis on each of the applicants was provided to the Board of Trustees.

Trustees chose seven semi-finalists to interview. Interviews will be held in closed session. Following the completion of those interviews, the Board will determine next steps on interviews for finalists.
