Four talented playwrights and performers from SAISD’s Poe Middle School have been invited to take center stage as part of SAMA’s “Pasión Popular: Spanish and Latin American Folk Art” exhibit kick off. The 7th- and 8th-graders will present their original play “Vuelta y Cambiar,” which is set in an art museum where a curator tells the story of the European conquest of Mexico. The students also researched material for the production, which first was performed at the SAISD History Day competition.
Their Sunday matinee performance will be among a wide variety of activities occurring that day at the San Antonio Museum of Art including workshops in puppet making, wood carving, flamenco dancing and more.
