April 20 (Sat) — Student Aid Saturday
10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Highlands High School, 3118 Elgin Ave.
Teens aspiring to higher education and their parents or guardians will receive free help in completing their federal and state financial aid applications. Student Aid Saturdays is a collaborative effort between the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, FirstMark Credit Union, SA2020, San Antonio Education Partnership, Gen TX-San Antonio and local colleges and universities. The citywide goal is to increase by 5 percent the number of parents and students completing applications for federal and state aid this academic year.
April 22 (Mon) — Fiesta Art and Dance festival
9 to 11 a.m. at J.T. Brackenridge Elementary School, 1214 Guadalupe St.
Students from five Head Start Program classes will celebrate San Antonio’s favorite annual party through art and dance. Classes will rotate throughout the morning.
April 22 (Mon) — Reciprocal choir performances
2:15 p.m. at Jefferson High School, 723 Donaldson Ave.
While in town on a recruiting and goodwill tour, members of the Colorado State University Concert Choir will serenade Jefferson’s choir. Following their performance, the Jefferson choir will return the favor by singing for their visitors.
April 23 (Tues) — SAISD Council of PTAs general meeting
6:30 p.m. at Baskin Elementary School, 630 Crestview Drive
The public is invited to meetings of PTA chapter representatives Districtwide.
April 26 (Fri) — Battle of Flowers Parade Day
All District schools and most offices will be closed.
