This will be the culminating activity for SAISD’s two-week summer musical theatre camp through which young thespians were introduced to the foundation skills of theatre, including character development, costume design, set design and stage lighting -- while visual arts students honed their skills through producing posters, merchandise and other items in preparation of show time.

“Schoolhouse Rock Live! JR.” was specially selected to exemplify how learning can be fun and because of its wide-ranging appeal to a variety of student ages and audiences. Admission is free, and the public is invited to enjoy the familiar songs and characters that have become popular with multi-generations.

Participants represent: Brackenridge, Edison, Jefferson and Lanier high schools; Longfellow, Rogers and Twain middle schools; Austin, Bonham and M.L. King academies; and Margil Elementary.
