Assistant Athletic Director Gerald Gonzalez Assistant Athletic Director

Jerry Gonzalez started his position as the Assistant Athletic
Director in SAISD on July, 2013. His responsibilities are:
High School Basketball, Tennis, Facilities/Rentals, and

Jerry was born and raised in San Antonio and is married to
his soul mate Margo.

He possesses a Masters of Arts in Administration Educational
Leadership (U.T.S.A.), a Bachelor’s of Science in Business
Administration (St. Mary’s University), a Post-Bachelor in
Education/Kinesiology (U.T.S.A.), a Principal Certification
(Early Childhood – 12th), Instructional Leadership Certification, PDAS Certification, Teacher
Certification, and has over thirty years’ experience in many administrative leadership roles and
duties: Athletic & Physical Ed. Director (Edgewood ISD & Antonian College Prep. H.S.), Assistant
Athletic Director (Incarnate Word H.S.), President of Private and Parochial Middle Schools
(Archdioceses of San Antonio), Vice Principal, Assistant Principal, Principal – Summer School
(Kennedy & Memorial High Schools), Head Basketball Coach (Incarnate Word & Antonian High
Schools), Dept. Chair (P.E. & Health), Lead Teacher, District Speech Dir., etc. (Antonian High
School). Jerry Gonzalez has worked extensively with administrative and athletic programs since
1980 and has developed them with much success. His thirty plus years’ experience in 
administration, teaching and coaching has proven his ability to motivate and lead programs.

  • Top Hispanic Coach in Girls’ Basketball, Tejano Hoops, 1994
  • Coached All-Star Teams: 1993, ’94, ’97, ’98, ’03. Dist.4-5A Coach of the Year, 2001-’04.
