Media Advisory

Who:          The Boeing Company and Marriott Hotels of San Antonio representatives

What:         Supplies bonanza! Kelly Elementary teachers presented with full sets of school supplies for every student – parents can check that off the list.

When:       Aug. 19 (Wed) – 1:30-2:30 p.m.

Where:      Kelly Elementary, 1026 Thompson Place

Teachers will be better equipped to help Kelly’s nearly 300 students start the first day of classes well-supplied for learning, thanks to a long-time partnership with The Boeing Company and Marriott Hotels of San Antonio. Representatives from both will arrive at the campus the week before school starts to donate all the supplies on the school list for students -- which they will set up in the cafeteria by grade level for easy pick up by each teacher. Teachers will distribute the supplies to their students on the first day of school.

Boeing and Marriott have been partnering with Kelly in this annual donation for more than 10 years as part of each company’s ongoing public service efforts.

“Providing these necessities is an important part of Boeing’s partnership with Kelly Elementary to ensure student success,” said Dayni Alba, Boeing Texas Community Investor.

Marriott's participation exemplifies the company’s pledge that “every community we are present in will be a better place to live and work,” according to Michael Waun, area sales leader for Marriott International. Marriott has over 4,000 hotels in nearly 80 countries around the world.

In addition to Waun, other Marriott representatives expected to attend the give-away will be:

• James McHenry, Marriott International sales executive

• Andrea Harrington, Marriott International sales executive

• Ryan Garcia, Marriott International sales executive

• Robert Ramirez, Marriott Rivercenter & Marriott Riverwalk director of sales & marketing

• Dinesh Rao, Courtyard San Antonio Riverwalk general manager

• Dusty Smith, Residence Inn San Antonio Alamo Plaza general manager

Note: Principal and teachers will be available for interviews.
