2018 Summer School Program Information - High School

Summer Credit Recovery Lab

June 11 – June 29
Lab Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Sites: Brackenridge, Burbank, Edison, Highlands, Sam Houston, Jefferson, and Lanier

Students will re-take courses using a self-paced online system with a monitoring teacher.  All courses must be completed by the conclusion of the summer session.

Enrollment – Students will register through their home campus counselors prior to the first day of classes.  Once classes begin, students may register on-site for multiple sessions depending on lab availability.

Daily Schedule: Two Sessions Offered Daily (3 Hours Each Session)
AM Session: 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM
PM Session: 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Sites: Brackenridge, Burbank, Edison, Highlands, Sam Houston, Jefferson, and Lanier

Students will review the concepts and skills needed for academic success in core subjects – English, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Teacher-led instruction will be provided in English I, English II, Algebra I, Biology, and U.S. History.

Attainment (Computer Based)

Daily Schedule: Two Sessions Offered Daily (4 Hours Each Session)

Students will receive computer-based courses not previously attempted.  This program is open to all students.  In-district students are students who are currently enrolled

 

DAEP Program 

June 4 – June 29
8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Sites: Estrada

This program gives students assigned to DAEP at the end of the school year an opportunity to complete the assignment during the summer and begin school at their home campus in the fall.

SSI/ EOC Testers: DAEP teachers will ensure that students receive the same intervention as they would if they were attending summer school at their home campuses.  Students will return to the assigned summer campus to test.

Non-Testers: Students will follow the same DAEP schedule as they would during the school year, which includes academic instruction, physical education, and service learning.
