IMAGINE YOURSELF AT THE CENTER OF INNOVATION, MAKING THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE.

Engineers provide solutions to problems and devise ideas for innovations touching almost every aspect of life. Crossing multiple industries, they design, manufacture and maintain everything from computers and airplanes to buildings and robots. Imagine the possibilities. Opportunities abound through the world of engineering.

The Engineering Career Institute at Lanier High School offers an advanced and rigorous curriculum in all core subjects with a focus on career opportunities in one of four different strands or “majors” to choose from: Architecture, Construction, Automotive Technology (under the Business & Industry endorsement), and Engineering (under the STEM endorsement). An endorsement is a targeted area of interest, and there are five different areas set by the state.

All majors offer students a number of Advanced Placement and dual-credit courses. Career courses closely align to the related programs at St. Philip’s College. Advanced Placement courses are available to prepare students for rigorous college coursework offered through the dual-credit courses.

All Institute students are required to participate in UIL, student leadership and service projects while in
high school.

*College credits include both dual credit and AP credit-by-exam
