SAISD’s Travis Early College High School nominated for Blue Ribbon honors

Jan. 12, 2017 – Travis Early College High School, a specialized school within the San Antonio Independent School District, has been nominated for recognition as a 2017 Texas Exemplary High Performing Blue Ribbon School.

The Texas Education Agency today published the list of Texas public schools nominated for national 2017 Blue Ribbon Schools recognition. Travis is among 26 public schools in the state nominated for this honor.

Travis Early College High School, which is located across the street from its program partner San Antonio College, puts students on the fast-track to higher education by allowing them to take high school and college courses that lead to a diploma and up to two years of tuition-free college credit. Most Travis students graduate high school having an associate degree. The tuition-free, early-college school has an open application period through Jan. 31.
