SAISD Taking Applications for Bond 2016 Citizens Advisory Committee
San Antonio ISD is currently accepting applications from interested individuals who would like to serve on the District’s Bond 2016 Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC).
Creation of the committee was approved by the SAISD Board of Trustees to ensure the effective and efficient use of bond proceeds. The purpose of the CAC is to inform and advise Trustees in matters relating to Bond 2016.
The 24-member committee will provide feedback to staff, review progress reports and report recommendations to the Board. Applications are due by March 1, 2017, and are available online, or at the Governmental & Community Relations Department, 518 E. Magnolia Avenue; San Antonio, TX 78212 or at the Superintendent’s office at 141 Lavaca, 78210.
The committee will be composed of 21 SAISD residents and three at-large representatives of business and community organizations. Trustees each will nominate three members. Three additional at-large representatives from business and community organizations located in SAISD will be nominated by the Superintendent and approved by Trustees.
Members will serve a two-year term. At the end of the term, each Trustee and the Superintendent may re-nominate his or her appointees or nominate new members.
