March 11 (Sat) — SAISD ‘F.A.C.E. of Success’ college and career awareness fair
9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the former Brewer Elementary site, 906 Merida St.
The community is invited to learn about available college and career resources. This fair is part of a series of events for the SAISD Family and Community Enrichment Resource Program, called the F.A.C.E. of Success, hosted by the District’s Department of Adult & Community Education.

March 11 (Sat) — ‘Master Teacher’ job fair
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, 900 E. Market St.
SAISD is seeking to hire teachers who are true “masters” of their craft – excellent and highly skilled educators who have demonstrated they can achieve high levels of student success. This new role within SAISD also provides incentives for them to work with students who have the greatest need. Free parking will be available at Brackenridge High School, 400 Eagleland Drive, with continuous shuttle transportation from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

March 13-17 — Spring Break
All schools and most offices will be closed this week and will re-open Monday, March 20.

March 20 (Mon) — School Board Meeting A
5:30 p.m. at the Burnet Center, 406 Barrera St.

March 22 (Wed) — ‘A Night Under the Stars’ daughter and dad dinner and dance
5 to 7 p.m. at Wheatley Middle School, 415 Gabriel St.
Girls in grades 5, 6 and 7 who attend Bowden, Pershing and Washington elementaries and Wheatley middle school and their dads are invited to attend.

March 23 (Thurs) — District Leadership Team meeting
4:45 p.m. at the Burnet Center, 406 Barrera St. 
SAISD’s District Leadership Team comprises parents, community and staff members who meet monthly to advise the school district on education’s goals and objectives.

March 25 (Sat) — SAISD ‘F.A.C.E. of Success’ college and career awareness fair
9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Wheatley Community School, 415 Gabriel St.
The community is invited to learn about available college and career resources. This fair is part of a series of events for the SAISD Family and Community Enrichment Resource Program, called the F.A.C.E. of Success, hosted by the District’s Department of Adult & Community Education.

 Free family fitness classes
March 20-23 — 5:30 p.m. at the SAISD schools listed below.
The popular Zumba dance fitness program classes are free and offered in partnership with Health Collaborative, a local network of citizens, community organizations and businesses. Upcoming sessions will be:

● March 20 (Mon) – at Burbank High School, 1002 Edwards St.
● March 21 Tues) – at Jefferson High School, 723 Donaldson Ave.
● March 22 (Wed) – at Whittier Middle School, 2101 Edison Drive
● March 23 (Thurs) – at Herff Elementary, 996 S. Hackberry St.
● March 23 (Thurs) – at Tafolla Middle School, 1303 W. César E. Chávez
