April 14 (Fri) — Easter break
All District schools and most offices will be closed.

April 17 (Mon) — School Board Meeting Business B
5:30 p.m. at the Burnet Center, 406 Barrera St.

April 18 (Tues) — College Fair
11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at Fox Tech High School, 637 N. Main Ave.
High school students Districtwide and their parents are invited to attend this fair hosted by the Advanced Learning Academy and the Fox Tech Health and Law Professions magnets. Representatives from more than two dozen colleges and universities nation and statewide are expected to attend.

April 19 (Wed) — Gift presentation to the Casa Gethsemane Orphanage
10 to 11 a.m. at Burbank High School, 1002 Edwards St.
National Honors Society officers will present the orphanage’s director $4,000 worth of school supplies and technology. The funds to help the orphanage in the Mexican state of Morelos start a school were raised from chocolate sales, and the endeavor is part of Burbank’s “A Hand Up” project to support the global community.

April 21 (Fri) — Former Dallas Cowboy to play in Eagles for Education Golf Tournament
1:30 p.m. (shotgun start) at the Republic Golf Club, 4226 S.E. Military Drive
Efren Herrera, an All-Pro kicker for the Dallas Cowboys and team member of its 1978 Super Bowl win over the Denver Broncos, will be among the players. He also will be available to autograph golf balls and photographs. Proceeds from the tournament, now in its ninth year, fund scholarships for Brackenridge High School students. April 21 (Fri) — A Night in Old Rodriguez
3:30 to 5 p.m. at Rodriguez Elementary,
3626 W. César E. Chávez Blvd.
The community is invited to enjoy free food, entertainment and fun activities and to find out about Rodriguez being awarded a $5 million TTIPS – Texas Title 1 Priority Schools Grant. Invited guests include SAISD School Board President Patti Radle and District 5 City Councilmember Shirley Gonzales.

Free family fitness classes
April 17-20 — 5:30 p.m. at the SAISD schools listed below.
The popular Zumba dance fitness program classes are free and offered in partnership with Health Collaborative, a local network of citizens, community organizations and businesses. Upcoming sessions will be:

● April 18 Tues) – at Jefferson High School, 723 Donaldson Ave.
● April 19 (Wed) – at Whittier Middle School, 2101 Edison Drive
