TYPES OF PROGRAMS
The District’s acclaimed Early Childhood Education Program is comprised of the federally funded Head Start program and the state District funded Pre-K program, both programs are full-day and serve 3 and 4 year olds.
PROGRAM LOCATIONS
Head Start is offered at various elementary schools, including the four Early Childhood Education centers. Pre-K is offered at various elementary schools and academies. Tuition-based Pre-K programs exist for families that do not qualify for free Pre-K.

To qualify for Head Start at least ONE of the following requirements must be met.

To qualify for free Pre-K at least ONE of the following requirements must be met. A child must be 3 or 4 years old on or before September 1 to be eligible.
