Respect rules here!
Representatives from the Anti-Defamation League and State Rep. Diana Arevalo will be among those commending efforts to ensure that everyone feels safe and valued at Longfellow MS during an Oct. 13 pep rally.
Highlighting the event will be the presentation of a banner proclaiming the school’s No Place for Hate designation, which was earned for 2016-17.
Festivities also will include performances by the school’s choir, mariachi group and dance team.
To earn the designation, Longfellow created a student-led No Place for Hate Coalition made up of students and staff to coordinate related activities including everyone signing the league’s Resolution of Respect.
They also completed three major campuswide projects to help students learn lessons including the positive effects of diversity, as well as the negative effects of gossip and bullying.
